Happy Vintage Easter!

Check out this risque Easter card postmarked 1908. Another century-old card from my ancestors’ stash. Although the ancients associated eggs with spring and rebirth, I don’t think this was quite the “chick” they had in mind. A more traditional card from the same time period is below. Happy Easter!

Writing Process Blog &Tag

Thank you to Celia Breslin (http://celiabreslin.com/blog/) for the tag. If you haven’t checked out her vampire series – The Tranquilli Bloodline – which begins with Haven, and you’re into vampires, I can promise one of the best reads of the year. it’s available HERE M y answers are a tad complicated, but please read on.

1. What am I working on? I’m a few days from completing the final story in my shapeshifter trilogy, Lyons’ Tales. Tentatively titled The Alpha’s Prey, this hot novella completed the story of the Lyons’ Family. All questions are answered and all conflicts resolved. In the planning stages are the first of a series of erotic mythology novellas, tentatively titled Cupid’s Back in Town.
2. How does my work differ from others of its genre? As you can see from my books on the left, I’m writing in several genres. So far, I have paranormal (shapeshifter and vampire), historical, contemporary, fantasy, and mythology books published , including M/F and M/M from sweet to erotic romance. I plan to write a space opera later this year, a couple more historicals, and a Christmas Regency story called the Twelfth Night Queen. I like to do a LOT of research and incorporate it into my books. All of my books have a humorous element also. You can click any of the gold icons on the left to read the blurb and excerpt with a buy link.
3 Why do I write what I do? Because I have to? I would be SO bored writing in one genre. I haven’t quite found which genre I like the best. Maybe some day. The only essential elements in my writing is the need for a happily ever after with a bit of humor mixed in.

On short notice, I only have two authors to tag – both paranormal/fantasy authors. Both are well worth the visit this weekend:
Graeme Brown http://www.graemebrownart.com
L.T. Getty http://ltgetty.wordpress.com/
Thank you for visiting. BTW, Graeme, L.T., and I begin a huge multi-author book tour next week with loads of gifts from us and out publisher, Champagne/Burst Books. Join us at any of our webpages.

Prepublication Announcement for Duchess in Waiting

Click to Read Excerpt/PreorderIt is my pleasure to announce the upcoming publication of Duchess in Waiting, an erotic Regency historical romance from Siren Publishing. Duchess in Waiting is the first novel in the Embracing the Dream trilogy, part of the Montclair Chronicles – my series that chronicles the adventures and misadventures of the noble Montclair family and their friends.  Check out the cover (by Harris Channing), blurb and order info below.

Lady Ellen Hammond languished for years at Madame Foret’s Academy for Young Ladies while her fiancé and guardian, the Duke of Ralston, enjoyed a rake’s life in London. When she must return to England to escape the violence of the Revolution, she decides that the life of a long-suffering duchess-in-waiting is not for her.

Posing as a valet, Devon Townsley, the Duke of Ralston, accompanies Robert Montclair to Paris to rescue Ellen and her English friends. Unprepared to settle down, he wants to see if his fiancée will make a suitable duchess. He has his doubts when he must rescue her from captivity in a brothel.

Determined to settle her business in London and travel the world, Ellen finds romance and passion with Rob’s aggravating valet, Tobias Stanford. When sparks ignite between the two and burst into a passionate affair, Devon reconsiders his commitment to living a rake’s life. He discovers, however, that his deceit has a high price.

Duchess in Waiting is a Siren Classic scorcher that features voyeurism, light consensual BDSM, and a lesbian relationship between secondary characters (a dominatrix and a prostitute) from a local brothel. Duchess in Waiting is scheduled for release on Tuesday,  March 25th. It is available for preorder at Siren BookStrand HERE or my Siren BookStrand AUTHOR PAGE that includes all of my stories. Duchess in Waiting is on sale for $4.05 through April 1st. Excerpts to follow.

Building a Series: The Big Picture

Series-Big Pic

Every Monday over at my group blog, Worlds of the Imagination, I’ll discuss topics related to building a series: The Big Picture, Setting the Theme, Building the World, Developing the Characters, and Growing the Stories. Finally I plan to close with Confessions of a Rogue Storyteller in which I’ll share the lowdown on the “You must always” rules of writing which haven’t worked for me and a few that did. I’ll also include a few “rules” garnered from conferences and successful authors that have been helpful for me. This week I’m presenting “The Big Picture” which is an overview of the process. Check it out by clicking the graphic above.

Next Monday, Developing Themes.  Later this week at Rita Bay, Ramping up for Valentine’s Day.  Rita

Contract Announcement for Duchess in Waiting

I’m pleased to announce that Siren BookStrand has contracted for Duchess in Waiting (Embracing the Dream 1) with a tentative release in March. I’m excited to return to Siren BookStrand with another installment in The Montclair Chronicles, my historical series that debuted in 2012 with His Obsession and His Desire. Duchess in Waiting, a Georgian Regency romance set in pre-Revolutionary Paris in 1789, was completed during NaNoWriMo in November, 2013. A short blurb follows.

Unprepared to settle down, he wants to discover if his fiancée will make a suitable duchess. He has his doubts when he must rescue her from captivity in a brothel.

Determined to settle her business in London and travel the world, Ellen finds romance with Rob’s aggravating valet, Tobias Stanford. When sparks ignite between the two and burst into a passionate affair, Devon reconsiders his commitment to living a rake’s life. He discovers, however, that his deceit has a high price.
