Event of the Week: Model T Ford Introduced

The Model T was introduced by Ford Motor Company on October 1, 1908. The 4-cylinder engine which was cast in a solid block and the transmission were enclosed. The car cost $825. By 1916 the price had dropped to $325.  Available only in black, it became one of the most popular cars in the US. It continued in production until 1927 when other companies introduced newer vehicles with more desirable features that could be bought on time.
