Niloufer, an Ottoman Princess, was born in Istanbul in 1916. She went into exile with the rest of the Sultan’s family in 1924. Her family moved to Nice, France. Some of these previously rich families were reduced to relative poverty. The Nizam of Hyderbad granted her family a pension on which to live. In 1931 the Nizam’s two sons married Niloufer and her cousin who was also an Ottoman princess. Niloufer married Moazzan Jag, the younger son. She and Jag did not have any children. They divorced in 1952 when she was only 36. She lived with her mother in Paris until her death in 1989. She was considered one of the most beautiful women in the world.
