ABOUT

ABOUT RITA      Rita’s  journey began on the Gulf Coast.  Over the years, she has lived and/or traveled in the eastern US and most of western Europe.  While juggling family and work, she participated in archaeological digs, earned a black belt in Shotokan karate, prospected for gold and crystals, camped across Europe, and volunteered with the American Red Cross Disaster and Education Services. Her education includes undergraduate degrees in nursing  and psychology, a Master’s in Counseling, and a Doctorate in Education.  Along the way, Rita has worked as a registered nurse, educator and school system administrator.  Her first writing efforts included curriculum development, grant-writing, and comprehensive program planning.  She retired early to expand her volunteer work and write wondrous tales of romance and adventure.  She’s currently compiling for publication Volume II of the burial records of a 150+-year-old cemetery.  She lives with her family in the old family home except when she’s  in Atlanta, at least for now.

Rita has written several historical and paranormal novels and novellas, three of which were published in 2012. Please visit ritabay.com to read blurbs and excerpts from her stories and blog posts.
